Welcome to Beacon Reading. My aim is to make reading support positive, effective, and enjoyable for every child. These terms and conditions explain how my tutoring services work and what you can expect when working with me.
About Beacon Reading
Beacon Reading provides online phonics and reading support for children through small-group and individual tutoring sessions.
By booking tutoring with Beacon Reading, you agree to these terms and conditions.
Booking and Payment
Sessions must be booked in advance.
Payment is required before sessions begin unless otherwise agreed.
Details of fees and payment methods will be provided at the time of booking.
Places are not guaranteed until payment has been received.
Attendance
Please ensure your child joins sessions on time.
Children should attend sessions in a suitable environment where they can focus and participate.
For online sessions, parents are responsible for ensuring their child has access to a suitable device and internet connection.
Missed Sessions
We understand that children sometimes become unwell or family plans change.
If you need to cancel a session, please provide as much notice as possible.
Sessions cancelled with at least 24 hours' notice may be rearranged where possible.
Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice are generally non-refundable.
If Beacon Reading needs to cancel a session, a replacement session or refund will be offered.
Group Sessions
Group sessions require all children to behave respectfully towards others.
If a child's behaviour repeatedly disrupts learning, We may discuss alternative arrangements with parents.
Group sizes may vary depending on demand and availability.
Safeguarding
The safety and wellbeing of children is a priority.
Parents or carers remain responsible for their child before and after sessions. Any safeguarding concerns will be handled in accordance with relevant safeguarding procedures and legal obligations.
Progress and Outcomes
Every child learns at their own pace.
While I use evidence-based teaching approaches and work hard to support each child, I cannot guarantee specific outcomes, assessment results, or rates of progress.
Communication
I welcome communication from parents and carers and will do my best to respond promptly to enquiries.
Important information relating to your child's learning may be shared with parents or carers where appropriate.
Resources and Materials
Any resources provided by Beacon Reading are for personal educational use only and must not be copied, distributed, or sold without permission.
Data Protection
Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Beacon Reading Privacy Policy.
Changes to Services
From time to time, session times, prices, or services may need to change. Reasonable notice will be given wherever possible.
